In mid-October of 1954, in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Bramlett, a small mission began.  On February 25, 1955, land was given by Mr. Leonard Atkinson to build a church building and to provide space for a cemetery.  Thus, Calvary Baptist Church was born with 38 charter members.  Rev. J.V. Mull was called as Calvary's first pastor and servied a two-year pastorate.  Since that time, we have had a few pastors come and go, and have even been blessed to have had four ordained into ministry from within our congregation.  Since the early beginnings in the small building, now the educational building, faces, pews, and carpet may have changed, but one thing has remained the same.  Calvary Baptist Church is a church dedicated to the spreading of God's Word by loving, caring members of His family.  We may just be a little, country church, but we serve a massive God, and because of that, we can make a massive impact.  To borrow a quote from the late John Wilson: "We are expecting great things to happen here at Calvary...We ain't seen nothing yet."
